Company: History

THE ORIGINS

RV Venturoli and Venturoli Sementi head offices are located just outside a dozen of kilometers far from Bologna. These seed companies are well renown from a very long time to be both on Italian and on international markets.
The origin dates back to 1932, when Luigi Venturoli decided that the time had come to put the experience he had gained in farming sector into entrepreneurial activity with production and commercial distribution of straw cereal seeds.
Top quality seeds have always been Venturoli Sementi’s priority. Therefore it comes as no surprise that one of the company’s customers was the Italian Royal Family’s agricultural establishment, San Rossore.
Luigi Venturoli’s activity was kept going from his son Vittorio, who is the present Managing Director. With his share the company was opened to international markets and he also introduced in the catalogue corn, sorghum and soybean seeds.

FROM WHEAT TO HYBRIDS

Luigi and Vittorio Venturoli started then the first co-operation with foreign markets that in 1974 brought them to establish the new company Renk Italia, alongside Venturoli Sementi. The new company, with its whole Italian capital, was born out collaboration with Renk Seeds, Wisconsin, USA (now Renk International).
Like Venturoli, Renk is a family concern, going back five generations. The new company, whose function was the distribution of Renk corn in Italy, was born out of Venturoli's own efforts with these products, dating back to 1969 (although regulated by other agreements). In the meantime, Venturoli Sementi was carrying an intense and growing activity in different areas from corn, like wheat, soybean, sunflower and sorghum seeds. Then at the end of 1991, Renk Italia changed its name into Renk Venturoli. This fact allowed Venturoli Sementi’s products to be distributed over the Italian marked with a sole right by Renk Venturoli.
Venturoli is exclusive distributor of all Renk products in Europe, and it has already obtained excellent results thanks to co-operations with companies from different foreign countries, in particular Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, France and Germany.
Collaboration with the French concern, C.C. Benoist, dates back to the beginning of the 1980's. C.C. Benoist is a world leader in the wheat sector. Dealings with another French concern, Semences de Provence (a European leader in the hybrid sorghum sector), date back to the same period.

THE PRESENT (AND THE FUTURE)

The third millennium has started with some important confirmations about corporate strategy, appropriate and suitable to these times.
RV Venturoli confirms the commitment about corn, soy, sorghum and sunflower seeds that are on our national market, thanks to a very steady and valued brand, to a catalogue of products very competitive and to a net of dealers highly professional and well spread over the country.
Their renewed efforts are strongly directed to push the straw cereal seeds market : wheat, Venturoli’s family first love, is having now a significant start and it tends to grow in the next future.
Therefore new meaning agreements are signed with european companies, like as Saaten Union, and american ones, in order to firmly face new and old markets, with particular attention to France and to the new European eastern countries, to Northern Africa and to those from Far East.
Company’s plans are ready to anticipate the new commercial trends and wide open to international markets, as to say: "A tradition that looks at the future".
